Foot, walking & movement assessment
Sometimes called a biomechanical assessment.
When foot pain keeps returning, it’s natural to wonder why. We look at your symptoms, footwear and movement, including bunion concerns—not foot shape alone.
You do not need to be a runner to discuss how your feet move, including concerns about bunions, arches or forefoot pain. Bring your usual shoes and describe the walking, work or activity you want help with.
Helpful things to bring
Your usual work and walking shoes, sports shoes if relevant, current or previous orthotics, and any reports or scans. An assessment does not commit you to buying orthotics.
How the movement assessment works
- We listen to where symptoms occur, what activities are affected and what you hope to return to or manage more comfortably.
- We examine the relevant area and may observe standing, walking or running alongside footwear, movement and strength.
- We explain the findings, their limitations and whether further investigation or another clinician may be appropriate.
- Together, we discuss a manageable next step. This may involve activity or footwear changes, rehabilitation, monitoring, or another option; orthotics are not automatic.
Consider an assessment when recurring pain, altered walking or footwear problems are limiting work, exercise or everyday activity.
