Cookie Policy
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. The same measurement also runs on our online booking page at bookings.nookal.com, which Nookal hosts for us, so that we can see whether the website is helping people reach a booking. We have set it up to collect a reduced amount of information, and we do not use it to identify you. There is no cookie banner: analytics runs on every page, and you can block or opt out of it at any time as explained below. Neither the website nor the booking page uses advertising cookies.
In plain language
- We use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful. It is set up to collect less than usual, and we don’t use it to identify you.
- Advertising features are switched off. On this website, search words and anything after a “?” or “#” in a web address are not sent to Google.
- The same measurement runs on our Nookal booking page, so we can see whether the website helps people book; fewer of these limits apply there.

1. The cookies we set
- Google Analytics on this website: Google Analytics 4 sets two first-party cookies on this site, named
_gaand_ga_5JCX1VMPKP. Each can last up to two years. They hold a random identifier that Google Analytics uses to distinguish one browser from another, so we can see, for example, whether a page is being revisited. - Google Analytics on the online booking page: cookies with the same two names are set when you open our online booking page at
bookings.nookal.com. They belong to that booking address rather than to this one, and they work the same way. Because both pages are measured together, a visit that starts here and continues on the booking page is counted once rather than twice. - Nookal’s own cookies: the booking page may also set cookies that Nookal needs to run the booking itself, for example to keep your place as you move between steps. Those are Nookal’s and are covered by Nookal’s privacy policy.
We do not run advertising, remarketing or cross-site tracking cookies on this website or on the booking page.
2. What analytics records, and what we have switched off
Google Analytics shows us which pages are viewed, how visitors reached the site, and general information such as approximate location (for example, city), device and browser type. The pages you view can relate to foot conditions, so we have limited the set-up on this website:
- Google signals and advertising features are switched off, and advertising storage is set to “denied”.
- We do not use Google Analytics’ User-ID feature or send names, email addresses, phone numbers or other contact details.
- We remove search terms and other URL parameters (anything after a “?” or “#” in a web address) before page addresses are sent. What you type into the site search stays in your browser.
- We do not combine analytics with patient records or booking details, and we do not try to identify individual visitors.
Alongside page views, we record two things you do on a page: selecting the phone number, and selecting the booking button. What is recorded is that the link was selected, the wording of the link and which page it was on — not the call itself, and not what is said. Phone links open your device’s dialler, and the call goes through your phone service, not this website.
This reduces what is collected, but analytics data still relates to your browser. Google may process it on servers outside Australia, including in the United States.
The online booking page
On the booking page, Google Analytics records which steps of the booking you reach and, when a booking is completed, that it completed, together with the appointment type and the fee shown for it. The name, contact details, date of birth and reason for visiting that you type into the booking form are not sent to Google Analytics — they go to Nookal, and to us, under our Privacy Policy.
Because that page is Nookal’s rather than ours, two of the limits above are not applied there: advertising storage is not set to “denied” on the booking page, and the web address is recorded as it appears, including the reference that identifies our clinic. The account-level limits apply to both — Google signals and advertising features are off, and User-ID is not used.
3. How to opt out
Clearing cookies removes the identifier, but a new one is set on your next visit. To stop Google Analytics collecting data, install Google’s Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or use a browser setting or extension that blocks trackers. Blocking cookies stops the identifier being stored. These controls cover the booking page as well, and the website and the booking page work the same either way. 4. Third-party services
Some features of this site involve third parties:
- Bookings: Nookal hosts our online booking page and collects the details you enter there on its platform, under its privacy policy and ours. Our Google Analytics measurement also runs on that page, as described in section 2.
- Analytics: Google Analytics is provided by Google, which may process information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- General enquiries — phone and email links open the relevant service on your device; the website itself does not collect the contents of your enquiry. We do record that a phone link was selected, as described in section 2.
Self-hosted fonts do not contact a third-party font provider.
