DVA podiatry questions
Do I need a referral for DVA podiatry?
Yes. Your first referral can come from your GP, a specialist or a hospital discharge planner. Later referrals come from your GP.
Can White Card holders use DVA for podiatry?
Sometimes, where the podiatry relates to a condition DVA has accepted. Call us, or check with DVA, if you're unsure.
How long does a DVA referral last?
Under DVA's current treatment cycle, a referral covers up to 12 sessions or 12 months, whichever comes first; after that you'll need a new referral from your GP. DVA has announced the cycle will end on 1 July 2027.
What will it cost me?
With a valid DVA referral and an eligible card, DVA pays us directly, so there's no gap for DVA-covered podiatry. We'll confirm what's covered when you call.
What should I bring?
Your Veteran Card, your referral, a list of your medicines and the shoes you wear most.
